| The Palestine Red Crescent Society was appointed by the Late President, Yasser
Arafat, to establish a National Blood Transfusion Services Center, to ensure the
provision of a reliable blood supply. |
|
|
The center aims to raise public awareness about the importance of blood donation
through a recruiting program encouraging people to voluntarily donate blood and
give the gift of life.
The Service conducts blood donation campaigns in all parts of the country,
provides a strategic storage program, assures the availability of a safe,
reliable blood supply, cooperates and coordinates with all hospitals and blood
banks regarding technical and medical concerns, and operates 24 hours a day. |
