| Primary Health Care (PHC) |

| Background |
Primary Health Care (PHC) is considered the backbone of personal and community health and wellness and accordingly, PRCS has based the development of its health services on the recommendations of the World Heath Organization and on the basic principles of PHC.
Thus, PHC services are adapted to local needs, focusing on prevention and health enhancement programs, encouraging local community involvement in planning and implementing various programs, and providing services both inside and outside of PRCS health centers.
These health services, both preventive and curative, are available on a daily basis. They are part of a holistic health program in second-level health centers that encompasses general medicine, follow-up house calls, pharmacy services, mother and childcare programs, weekly specialized consulting, social events, health enhancement exercises, and educational activities. Third-level health centers provide the aforementioned services, plus dental, laboratory and X-Ray services.

| In order to create a vital link between local communities and PHC Centers, PRCS has focused on training local community members, especially women and youth, to undertake social education and health awareness activities through seminars, training sessions, follow-up house calls, emergency first aid training, and assistance in planning and implementing proper health education campaigns. |
| PRCS operates 80 Primary Health Care centers in Palestine and the Diaspora.
Twenty-four PHC centers in West Bank towns and three centers in Gaza are now
providing PHC services to the Palestinian people in addition to those in the
Diaspora. |
