Unified Stand Demanding an International Investigation into the Targeting of PRCS Medics.
Today, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) organized unified solidarity stands across all its branches in Palestine and the diaspora. This coordinated action came in response to a call by the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, demanding the establishment of an independent international investigation into the deliberate targeting and killing of eight PRCS medics in Rafah while carrying out their humanitarian duties.
In his speech, PRCS President Dr. Younis Al-Khatib held the Israeli occupation fully accountable, stating:"Targeting medics while in uniform and bearing our emblem is a blatant violation of international humanitarian law. We will not remain silent."
Al Khatib also stressed the urgent need to uncover the fate of our four colleagues who remain forcibly disappeared, including our medic Asaad Al-Nassasrah.
Dr. Haidar Al-Qudra, PRCS Executive Director in Gaza, emphasized that this stand is part of our ongoing call to uphold the protection of emergency medical personnel, as guaranteed by international humanitarian law. He stressed the urgent need for concrete measures to prevent future attacks on medical teams.
This stand coincided with a global action by the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, sending a unified message demanding the protection of medical personnel and respect for international humanitarian principles.
Despite all challenges, we at PRCS reaffirm our commitment to our humanitarian mission and to defending the right of our medics to work safely under international protection.
